Antistreptolysin O Levels in Prostitutes´ Serums

Abstract
|

|
The authors examined on the 100 serum specimens from prostitutes which were titrated for Antistreptolysin 0 values, and the following results were obtained.
1. An equal results were observed either with the half volume of each reagents of Rantz-Randall method or original volume of Rantz-Randall method.
2. It was evident that the mode of the frequency distribution was in the class of 100 units, and that the majority of serum specimens, 61% showed Antistreptolysin 0 titers less than 166 units and 39%, showed Antistreptolysin 0 titers more than 166 units. The sera containing less than 12 units or more than 833 units of Antistreptolysin 0 were rare, and the average Antistreptolysin 0 titers was 176.26 units.
3. No different frequency distribution of Antistreptolysin 0 titers between positive and negative sera of serological tests for syphilis.
